I'd love to develop this some more, especially if folks are interested. I can't tell you how many times I've sat in web design conferences, read design books/blogs/etc., and so on while thinking about their relevance to Emergent in particular and theology in general. Many thanks for the interest.

Good thoughts, man. I see lots of ground for fruitful discussion involving web 2.0 concepts and connectivity and things like early Anabaptist ecclesiology (in contrast to more rigidly hierarchical leadership structures), discipleship movements like the desert mothers/fathers, Franciscans, etc., and older, more relational forms of leadership development (reading for orders, mentorship, etc.). That's very much the kind of conversation I'm hoping the new version of my site will be able to facilitate if I ever have time to get it up and running, of course with a bent towards the radical socio-politico-economic dimensions of living out the gospel.

Right now that's a big if with how busy I've been...

Jonathan, I so agree with you I could write a whole post about it (which probably I should :)).

In short, you can have a great product but if you don't have a great presentation to go with it ... well, it will be lost "in translation". Apple is such a great example of how deeply people resonate with design. A lot of the features Apple offers can be found in other products, but ... the design, the feel, the experience ... aaaah, that's another thing. Same with anything else, theology included (especially since Theology has the bad rep that it is dry and stale).

Thank you for pointing this Jonathan. You are spot on!!! Great observations!

Thank you for writing this! I agree with you, the synergy between communities empowered for crowdsourcing and inspired designers contributing generously can produce some amazing results.
